Gyopo (교포) | Dinner with cook Grace Seibert
Join us Tuesday, December 13, 2022 for a traditional-ish Korean feast with vegetable-forward banchan and seafood by friend and cook Grace Seibert.
Gyopo includes wine, a small memento, and helps support future artist programming at Companion. Setting is intimate and limited to 14 guests. Guests may bring beverages of their choice.
Gyopo (교포): ethnic Koreans living outside of Korea; definitely not “full” Korean.
They say it better than I ever will. | Closing Readings with Katy Didden and Jennifer Delgadillo
The closing reception brings together Katy Didden and Jennifer Delgadillo, artist-writers whose work often centers the possibilities of language, gazing, and our relationships with the natural world. Katy will read from her new book of mixed-media erasure poems, “Ore Choir: The Lava on Iceland” (a collaboration with illustrator Kevin Tseng). Jennifer will share an excerpt from her novel in progress, The Flowers in the Desert. We'll close with an interactive rain oracle led by Katy. Readings begin at 2 PM.

Stephanie Barlow: They say it better than I ever will. | Opening Reception
OPENING RECEPTION | Stephanie Barlow explores our connections with the natural world and brings into focus the endlessness of time and change in the everyday. Material curiosities lead her present and playful practice through drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, bookmaking, and sculpture. With They say it better than I ever will., her notes on patterns and fluctuations in life, decline, and what gets left behind document a reverence for the biosphere and reflect on our collective impact.
